Excursion to Saharna rocky monastery

“Saint Trinity” monastery is situated at a distance of 110 km North from Chisnau, on the right bank of Nistru river, in Saharna village. This monastery is considered to be one of the biggest pilgrimages centers in Moldova. Here are preserved the unique relicts of St. Cuvios Macarie, and on the top of the high cliff, according to a legend, there is a footprint of St. Maria. 

From the top of the hills tourists can see picturesque places – rocky hills covered by forests, and a small 16-km river with more than 30 waterfalls. Also, you can see here the remains of Iron Age (X-XIII cent. B.C.) and geto-dacian fortress, which has been preserved in a better condition than any other in Moldova.
